Bobbi Trout Interred at Valhalla
On Friday, April 25, 2003, at 4p.m., Bobbi Trout was interred at Valhalla
Aviation Portal of the Folded Wings in Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park, North Hollywood.
The address is 10621 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood, California.
The Portal was originally built
as the entrance to Valhalla Memorial Park in 1924. The name "Portal of Folded Wings"
was formally bestowed upon the structure on December 17, 1953. Buried beneath
the dome are famous aviators, including:
- Bertrand B. Acosta, co-pilot with Admiral Richard Byrd in 1927
- Walter R. Brookins, flew for the Wright brothers
- Carl B. Squier, WWI aviator, barnstormer, test pilot, and salesman
- Mark M. Campbell, stunt pilot and aircraft designer
- W. Bertrum Kinner, built 'Kinner' airplanes. Amelia Earhart flew a Kinner
- Elizabeth L. McQueen, one of Los Angeles's first women pilots
- Matilde J. Moisant, the second licensed female pilot in the United States in 1911
- Carl B. Squier, WWI aviator, barnstormer, test pilot, and salesman
A special plaque honors the memory of Bobbi's friend, Amelia Earhart.
It is a great honor for Bobbi to be laid to rest among such a list of her piers.
